Dear 13th Week, I am so glad you are here. We are exactly four days away from the second trimester and, although it’s hard to believe we’re a third of the way through this gig, I am hoping you bring all the good things.
Dear Starbucks Café Mocha, You have no idea how much I missed and how delicious you tasted (twice!). I still can’t drink coffee first thing in the morning — I have to throw up first — but enjoying a venti coffee on my way to work has been such a guilty pleasure.
Dear 30* Morning, What in the world?! We have been enjoying lovely spring weather and I was not prepared to dig out sweaters and jackets again this week. I want sunshine and Birkenstocks and front porch hangs.
Dear Dance Competition Season, I knew that you would be hard, but I might have underestimated you. It took several days to recover from our ten hour day last weekend and I’m glad I have another full week before we try you again. Giant dance bags and stairs and tight timelines are no friend to the pregnant lady.
Dear Books, WELCOME BACK TO MY LIFE! It was really weird that reading you made me sick and even though I only finished three in February (almost four!), I’m feeling like March might be my month. I have a stack of new titles on my desk and I’m wrapping up an excellent book that’s only taken me six months to finish. I’m thinking about adding some children’s literature to my docket this month (First, because that was one of my reading goals for 2018 and, second, because Rachel said to) to help me over the hump.
Dear Orangetheory, You have been super hard since the pregnancy symptoms settled in, but I think I’ve finally found my rhythm. I have to take it easy in the morning classes because my stomach is still unsettled, but I discovered this week that I can go pretty hard on my Wednesday night class. I logged the highest meters in my group row, ran the entire 12 minutes without stopping and finished all 300 bodyweight exercises. Sure, I went straight to bed afterwards, but that is to be expected, right?
Dear Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Why I have I not been eating you for weeks? You might have been a last minute, hunger-induced decision last night, but you will be first on the list from now on.
Dear Baby, You were so funny to watch on the Ultrasound this week. Your daddy could not get over how active you were. I can only feel you dancing occasionally right now, but I’m betting you’re going to be keeping me up at night before too long.
Dear Husband, I like you a lot right now and sending me links to adorable baby shoes makes me like you even more. Well played.
Dear Virtual Friends, I’m so excited that you’re back here again this month. I hope that we can grow this little linkup together and learn all sorts of fun things about each other as we go.
Dear New Visitors, This is our favorite new linkup. The second Friday of every month, we’ll be sharing Little Letters together on our blogs. Write a series of letters to anyone or anything you’d like and come back here to link up. Don’t forget to share with your friends. This is one of those times where “the more, the merrier” definitely applies!
To link up, share the banner below, link back to this post, and invite your friends to play along. Don’t have a blog? Leave your letter in the comments of this post, or on my Instagram or Facebook posts for today instead. We’ll share again on Friday, April 13th. See you then!
