It’s weird how January seemed to drag on forever and then February was gone in the blink of an eye. Maybe it is directly tied to what was going in my life during those months, but 2018 has just felt weird so far. I wasn’t hopeful when March dawned dreary and cloudy, but it’s been a surprisingly beautiful week in our neck of the weeks. Those big trees aren’t budding out yet, but our dogwoods and yellow bell bushes are GORGEOUS and the grass is starting to turn. Bring on Spring!
planning | I’m just planning all the things right now. I mentioned this last week, but we got our Disney trip rescheduled and are now planning for a Thanksgiving trip. Yes, I’m probably certifiable for taking an 8 week old to Disney, but we’re going with it. It isn’t time to start making reservations just yet, but we’re already working on an itinerary and trying to decide on dining options for the week. We’re also so ready for our annual beach trip and I’m debating on going the entire two weeks this year. I’m so thrilled because several of our good friends will be at the beach those same weeks, so we’ll have plenty of family and friend time. I’m also planning maternity leave and making plans to finally get our home renovation started. We might not get everything done before baby’s arrival, but I hope we’re a little more settled and that the kids’ rooms are all done.
seeing | We got to see baby yesterday and it was such a treat! One of the upsides to this advanced maternal age business is that we get more ultrasounds than normal and they are all required and covered by insurance (insert all the praise hands). We had an early anatomy scan yesterday and this kiddo was moving and shaking. Everything looked great, but we’ll get the blood test results in a week and have a follow up scan in four more weeks to confirm.
making | I’m not making much of anything these days and that’s a little depressing. I love being creative and I can’t wait to start decorating the nursery and girls’ room to get my creative juices flowing again. While I might not be making physical things with my hands right now, I’m making plenty of mood boards and lists and pinning like a crazy lady.
pretending | I’m pretending to much more organized and on top of things than I really am. I have a list of blogging tasks that need tending to and I still haven’t prepared our taxes for the accountant yet. Does it count that it’s on my list?
wearing | Non-maternity tops and dresses, but all maternity pants. These third babies show up early and make their presence known. I’ve purchased so many maternity pants already and I’m still on the hunt for a great pair of white jeans and some cute denim shorts. Tell me all of your maternity secrets, please and thank you.
