One of my favorite things to introduce on the blog last year was a monthly recap called “by the numbers.” It included a miniature infographic covering all that took place throughout each month. Sure, some of the things you already knew, but others didn’t warrant their own post and wound up there instead. There may be times this year when these are accompanied by photographs that didn’t make the blog – or other tidbits of information you didn’t already know – but sometimes they’ll just hang out on their own. Either way, I’m excited to bring back our monthly infographics and attempt to get one on the blog every single month this year. There might even be a Free Bible Journaling Printable in it for those who make it all the way through this post. Who’s with me?!We made our 9th annual trip to the Ringling Brother’s Circus, which has come to Birmingham the last weekend of January every year for as long as I can remember.
We celebrated Alabama’s 16th National Championship win AND Josh’s birthday all in the same month. Talk about a reason to celebrate! Both evenings were filled with way too much food, but I had a cheat meal for family night dinner and enjoyed the biggest, most delicious spread of forbidden breakfast foods ever. I was sick as a dog afterwards, but my mom’s biscuits and hashbrown casserole were well worth every stomach pain.
We finally put our house on the market and are hoping (and praying!) it sells quick. We’ve had some interest from renters, so if we don’t manage to sell it before summer, we might consider trying to own two houses at once. Yikes.
I spent most of the month stressing over the new site design. YOU GUYS, I couldn’t be happier. I can definitely attribute my more frequent posting and general happiness at being around over here to the fact that everything is so shiny and pretty to work with. I’m still categorizing and formatting old posts (hello, tiny images and zero line breaks), so bear with me if you happen to dive deep into the archives.
I managed to finish up 4 of my 52 books for the year (you can read my reviews here) and start on number 5! Even Josh has joined in the game and has been devouring Steven King’s Dark Tower Series. He has been burning the midnight oil because he CANNOT seem to put a book down once we starts and often finishes them in one sitting. Weirdo.
Sophie suffered through two migraines this month, just a little over a week apart. She doesn’t usually have them back-to-back like that, so we’re keeping an eye on things and I’m taking copious notes in my planner. She also seems to be going through a growth spurt, so I’m hoping some of her symptoms are actually related to that!
I successfully conquered 29 days of LiveWhole365 this month. I had only planned to take a single cheat day, but I’m going to call two days for the month a win! I’m still kind of learning how I can maintain this long-term, so I’m hoping things can only get better moving forward. I shared my one month recap on the blog last week, complete with very unflattering photographic evidence.
We binge watched an awful lot of television last month, but that is always what happens during winter break. Other than football, there was very little to be found on cable tv, so we resorted to adding HULU to our digital streaming repertoire (we already subscribed to Amazon Prime & Netflix). Fortunately all sorts of good things return this month: Survivor, Vikings, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, HTGAWM and Walking Dead. Hallelujah!!
There you have it… just about everything we accomplished during the month of January. I’m already making a list for February and I can’t wait to find new ways to report our monthly statistics. Any numbers you are particularly interested in having us divulge? Do tell.
I completely forgot to tell you, but I guest posted over at Blogs by Christian Women earlier in January and talked about how to incorporate Bible Journaling into your regular study time. The best part? I designed a Free Bible Journaling Printable for their readers and now you can download it here!
