So, were over half-way through February. What in the fresh heck? I am not ready for this year to just blow right by me… I have so many things I want to do and see! I thought I’d check in with a list of all the things we’re currently enjoying this month.
READING: I’ve already logged a few books for February and they’ll be on the blog early next month. I did start attending another Bible study with some girls in my community and we are reading through Seamless by Angie Smith. The premise is that it teaches the Bible as a single story pointing to Christ from Genesis to Revelation, in a very simple and easy-to-understand way. So far, I’m really enjoying it and learning a lot!
LISTENING: I haven’t really added any new music to my playlists this month, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t jamming out. I’ve got a new worship playlist that I listen to during my first fifteen minutes every morning and I’m loving these monthly playlists that my virtual pal, Rachel, has been putting together. They are perfectly curated and exactly my style!
WATCHING: Thankfully, we are finally watching allthethings. To name a few: The Walking Dead, Vikings (coming back tomorrow!!), Survivor, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal & How to Get Away With Murder ALL returned this month. Woohoo!! I’m still working my way through the entire series of Felicity and I’m hoping to wrap that up before the end of the month.
TRYING: To exercise. You guys know I ran a handful of times during January, but I logged six miles of a marathon relay this past Sunday morning. I have lots to say about that, so I’ll save it for a more proper recap when I’m back in charge of LW365 later this month. Also, T25 is happening in the very near future. Yikes.
EATING: All the healthy things. I’ll be over on our LiveWhole365 feed a little more than normal this month since Jennifer is traveling some, so I’m cooking a lot. I will say that I finally enjoyed my first planned off-day and it did NOT disappoint. I’ll be sharing details about that day on the blog next week, too.
CALLING: Do you still call people? I’m honestly not sure why this is a prompt on my “currently” list, because I tend not to make telephone calls very often. I joked with somebody the other day that I do NOT use my phone for making calls. Text me, please.
TEXTING: This is pretty much a standard list. Jennifer, Josh, Kamin & my mom are always my top four, but I have four other sweet friends who are in a group text and they are always the next four faces on my “most recent” list according to Siri. Give me all the hilarious group text messages. Jennifer & I chat mostly about food we are eating, food we wish we could eat, why are husbands are losing twenty pounds a week and how irritated they are that we are watching television simultaneously and “live texting” as we go. What, that isn’t a thing?
PINNING: I haven’t spent much time on Pinterest, aside from recipe boards, but it’s time to start planning Sophie’s birthday party and there is a new board in town. If you are a fan of rainbows and unicorns (or you just want to see what we’re up to), head on over here and see everything that we’ve picked out so far.
CRAFTING: None, unless it happens in my Bible.
DOING: I went shopping with my mom and my sister on Saturday. We had been trying to plan a girls day since Christmas and just couldn’t get it together. We arranged the kiddos with their daddies, put the cell phones on silent and left home with zero plans and no firm end time. We hit up thrift shops and antique stores, Target, Nordstrom, Chipotle AND Chick-fil-A. It was super fun and I spent a little too much money.
GOING: We’re working on plans for a quick weekend to Chattanooga next month, courtesy of Ella’s first dance competition. We’ve already picked up tickets for the Children’s Museum and the Aquarium. Any other recommendations?
LOVING: Lazy days of February. We are kind of caught up on projects and since our house is on the market, it’s a little cleaner than usual. We’ve been reading and snuggling and Netflixing quite a bit. Doesn’t that sound lovely?
HATING: That my Stitch Fix box was seriously delayed. I’m supposed to have a review on the blog for you today (it says so on my calendar), but the U.S. Postal Service kind of thwarted my plans. Although the package was “at my box” according to the web on Friday morning, they wouldn’t let me have it. I couldn’t get it over the weekend because it was mailed to my office and since Monday was Presidents’ Day, I couldn’t have it then either. I finally got my hands on it yesterday, but now I have to take some pictures before *hopefully* getting it up on the blog in time for Friday.
ENJOYING: My girls’ new found love of blanket-forting (is that a verb?). I keep finding haphazardly folded blankets and piles of pillows in corners, but they are so cute all tucked in with a movie in the dark.
HOPING: People will want to buy our house. Pronto.
CELEBRATING: Not too much on this front. We are in between birthday seasons at our house, but Easter & Sophie’s 6th birthday are on the horizon.
DREADING: Still taxes. I’m working on wrapping that up this week, but it is always such a hassle. I’m already trying to organize myself a little bit better so that next year I can get this done as early as possible.
CONSIDERING: Outlander. Has anybody read this series? There are currently eight books and they’re long, so that is intimidating. I don’t normally like period novels (even though I’m listening to a different one right now), but I’m completely intrigued. I have to admit that we’ve just watched the first season of the television series on Starz, so that piqued my interest. Guys, it’s a little racy, so don’t consider this a recommendation necessarily (even though Josh & I really enjoyed the story and pretty much adore Jamie Fraser).
BUYING: I told you earlier that I spent a little too much on Saturday, so here is the breakdown. I grabbed some new running pants for my race last Sunday, Easter dresses for the girls, Valentine’s Day treats for them both, a couple pairs of pajamas and two pairs of Frye boots. I know, but they were on some crazy sale and I have wanted them forever and I just don’t feel the least bit guilty about it at all.
WEARING: Those Frye boots. Every darn day. Otherwise? It is running pants and black Nike tennis shoes as long as that is socially acceptable.
