I fully intended on giving you a real post yesterday, but we were home together in our pajamas, crafting and cleaning and finally packing away Christmas. I cooked three meals and folded all the laundry and finally met with our real estate agent to get this house on the market. In short, the blog didn’t cross my mind until late afternoon. So how about a random Tuesday post instead?<
A friend of mine shared these questions last week with answers from her three boys and they were so funny that I couldn’t resist sharing them with you. I didn’t have a recent picture of the girls that I haven’t already shared recently, so I thought I’d pull one from the archives. This was from the Fall of 2011 and part of our Christmas card shoot. When I flipped through the album last night, this one got smiles and wild laughs from everyone. This picture is why we call her Tazzie. Precisely.
1. What is something I always say to you?
S: No, Sophie, don’t do that.
E: “Go to your room” or “no.”
Clearly I need to work on kind words. Apparently all I ever say is no?!
2. What makes me happy?
S: Umm, me?
E: Cooking.
Both of these are pretty spot on.
3. What makes me sad?
S: When I do something I’m not “disposed” to or when Beemer died.
E: Taking the Christmas decorations down.
I love Sophie’s voice and the words she still struggles with. Her form of “supposed” is one of my favorites. Also, she still talks about Beemer’s death quite a bit. She drew a “before and after” photo of her the other day. I’ll just leave that little nugget with you.
4. How do I make you laugh?
S: When you scare me.
E: Asking me dumb questions like these.
Ella is nothing if not honest.
5. What was I like as a child?
S: Mean to your sister.
E: Weird, sorry.
Ouch.
6. How old am I?
S: 32
E: 36 (she’s right!)
Sophie was pretty frustrated that she couldn’t get this one exactly and wanted me to correct her answer.
7. How tall am I?
S: A hundred inches
E: 6 foot
8. What is my favorite thing to do?
S: Snuggle and art.
E: Jogging, going to Nana’s on Saturday for football games, spending time with family.
I love all of these answers.
9. What do I do when you’re not around?
S: Bible journaling.
E: Read and clean.
The cleaning part notsomuch, but everything else is pretty spot on.
10. What am I really good at?
S: Bible journaling!
E: Painting.
It’s kind of cool when your kids think you’re talented. Also, I painted a lot yesterday so it was fresh on everyone’s mind.
11. What am I not very good at?
S: Snuggling.
E: Dancing.
These made me laugh so hard. God bless Ella, but she is so right — I am not an expert dancer. I usually reserve that for close family only. Sophie has recently told me that you can’t snuggle while holding your phone, so she’s making it her missing to teach me how to do it really good.
12. What do I do for a job?
S:Work so you can get us money.
E: Work for attorneys.
When Josh & I get to choose something and they are frustrated with our decision, we always pull the “I paid for it” card. My house, my food, my car, etc. Now Sophie thinks my sole purpose in life is to accumulate money with which to torture them.
13.What is my favorite food?
S: Watermelon.
E: Chocolate chip cookies.
Both of these are great answers. Josh & I love Pepperidge Farm chocolate chip cookies and pre LiveWhole365, we would snack on them at night. Watermelon is my current sweet treat!
14. What do you enjoy doing with me?
S: Arts and crafts.
E: Going to dance competitions. Far, far away.
Again, these are such perfect answers that outline their own talents and loves, as well. I can totally see Sophie pursuing a creative lifestyle and Ella was made to dance. My favorite things to do with them are to spotlight their talents and encourage them to pursue things that they love.
