Ummm, there are only nine days until Christmas and if you are anything like me, you might need a little help getting everything together before the big day?! I’m thrilled to be joining these girls again this month to bring you all sorts of holiday inspiration.
I’ve said many times before that birthday parties are my love language, but wrapping gifts is a close second. I collect fun papers and washi tapes and ribbon all year in anticipation of those first few weeks of December. My husband gets irritated because I always select a few rolls of paper for all the gifts and I hide everything else so he won’t use them. I love seeing coordinating papers under the tree and figuring out how to make each of the gifts look different is so much fun!
I knew I wanted to design some printable tags for our gifts this year and while I was working Josh began to sing, “You’re gonna pop some tags, I only spent $20 on this present.” I wish I could convey to you the amount of laughter that followed from our nine year old. She has a fabulous sense of humor and she thinks her daddy is pretty much the greatest thing ever. Shortly thereafter she sang, “I’ve got a blank space baby and I’ll write your name.” At this point we were so tickled that I scrapped my original tags {I’ll share those on the blog later this week for you those of you who aren’t as ridiculous as we are} and we started converting all of our favorite lyrics into gift tags.
I’ll admit that some of them are probably not in the greatest of taste and others might take you just a minute to figure out, but we had the best Saturday morning serenading one another. I’m hoping that for those of you who love music just as much as we do, you will laugh every time you tie one on a gift this year.
We opted for a black and white version because they coordinated best with our gift wrapping and I thought the concept was fun enough without a lot of extra decoration. We did add some color to a few sheets with inexpensive watercolors and a sharpie marker, though. This would be a super fun craft to work on with your kids — colored pencils, craft paints and even stickers could be beautiful!
