Do you know about Rickwood Field? It’s America’s oldest ballpark and it’s only about an hour from our house. I had never been before last Saturday, but I’m glad I did. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but Josh is helping coach the varsity baseball team at our alma mater this year and we’ve been trying to catch the local games. Especially since some of them are within walking distance. This past weekend, they played at legendary Rickwood Field and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to soak up the sun and watch our sweet daddy on the field. I spent a lot of time at the baseball field in high school, watching him through the fence and hoping for a signal from the field. It’s weird to think that these kids are the same age we were when we met and started dating, but I’m glad for the opportunity to watch him through the fence again. Even if he’s on the sidelines.
The field is beautiful and my favorite part is the vintage looking advertisements in the outfield. Did you know Rickwood has starred in some pretty good movies? Like A League of Their Own, Cobb and most recently 42.
Sophie’s favorite part was sitting in as many places as possible without getting into trouble. Since there wasn’t a stadium full of people, as long as she stayed close, I tried to let her have a good time.
My favorite part was enjoying the view.
