Woah. That’s how I feel about the last seven days. It has been packed wall to wall with all sorts of things and hasn’t left much time for blogging or reading or eating or sleeping. You know, anything fun at all.
ONE // Last Saturday morning I ran for the first time since the Mercedes Half Marathon. This is the second year that our high school held a 5k to raise money for the school. I finished second in my division last year and third this year. I squeezed in under 29 minutes this time around, but if I had been training I probably could have shaved off a few additional minutes. This course is hard! There are lots of hills and an especially tough one right at the end. It was fun to see friends from high school and participate in something to benefit the kids in our community.
TWO // I left the race with my two pajama clad children and headed straight to the dance studio. Ella has been having weekend practices a lot this spring to get ready for competition season and this once was no different. She danced from 9 to 12 and then we picked her up and raced to Rickwood, hoping to catch our sweet daddy’s second game. On Sunday, she had dress rehearsal at the studio all afternoon. It was the first time we got to see them in full makeup with their costumes on and THEY WERE ADORABLE. I’ll admit, it’s a bit “Toddlers & Tiaras”, but the girls love it and we all have such a good time together.
THREE // We left dance rehearsal and fled home for a quick change of clothes before church. The deacons and their wives host widows and widowers in our church every spring for a banquet to honor them. This year it was church-wide and we had such a huge turn out. The wives decorate tables and cook the food and the husbands serve the guests and provide a devotion and entertainment. The food was delicious and all of the tables were beautiful! It’s always fun to see how different 15 tables can look. I was thrilled for an excuse to use my new-to-me china. My aunt gave me these back before Christmas and I adore them. They are vintage Blue Willow. Gorgeous, right?!
Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to scrub the heavy stage makeup off or comb out the over-teased ponytail, so Ella was quite the hit of the party. Josh & I joked that there were probably many whispers over dinner about how we let our 7 year old wear such heavy eye make-up!
FOUR // I feel like moms who blog have been talking about Frozen non-stop since November and I am no exception. We can’t help ourselves… I think it’s the best Disney movie since The Lion King. I saw both of these videos shared on Facebook Wednesday night and just died. They are hilarious. Have you seen either of them yet?

FIVE //I can finally breathe a sigh of relief and say the blog is officially finished. Done. Complete. The old domain finally transferred, then I spent a few days being in panic mode because it wasn’t forwarding to the new site properly. Yesterday, the permanent forwarding was resolved and now all of the old links on Pinterest and Facebook should redirect you here. I can finally stop pacing and Josh can stop sending me emails about how things aren’t working like they are supposed to. Next on the list is the etsy shop. It has a home and tons of work being uploaded so at some point over the weekend, that button in the sidebar should be in working order. Here are a few super cute pieces I’ve been working on this week.
Well, it’s the weekend! Aren’t you excited? It’s crunch time around here, packing bags for an out of town dance competition and hoping we have everything on our list. Ella lost her track jacket sometime in the last month, which of course she’s required to wear on stage tomorrow. Josh is thrilled about sitting in the audience with Taz for six hours while I run around backstage like a beast. Ella is mostly concerned about making sassy faces on stage and if her pony tail is fluffy enough. I’m just praying for survival, friends. And counting down the days til Spring Break and sandy toes.
