Words aren’t so much necessary for this post, you can see just how giddy we were in the pictures. We had the best day tailgating in Tuscaloosa with our friends and family. We were all a little stressed out during the first half of the game, but we recovered well after the half. There were shakers left in every seat in the stadium and watching the crowd shake them together is pretty special to watch. I’m sure there have been louder games, but with every seat in the house filled, it got pretty loud – especially any time they played a song the crowd likes to sing along with (see here). Just ask Josh, since he had a splitting headache from the noise the entire night!
We finished the game with a very loud, very excited, four-times repeated rendition of Rammer Jammer and even hung around to watch the post-game interview with a very happy Coach Saban (did you see him embrace AJ at the end of the game?!).
The highlight of the day for the boys was a tour of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility earlier in the afternoon. Coach was there, but since he was meeting with recruits our boys didn’t get to shake his hand. They did get to chat with Desmond Howard (that’s him running on the treadmill behind Josh) and even did a little 40 yard dash on the indoor practice field. They walked around with a perma-grin the rest of the day and us girls were more than a little jealous.
I think Josh’s favorite part of the weekend happened after we got home. He couldn’t resist tweeting Desmond about the foot race and was pretty proud of himself when he got a response. What I don’t have a photo of is the continued twitter convo that took place between them throughout the night on Sunday. I think Josh thinks he’s made a new friend…
Roll Tide, friends!<
