I was flipping back through some old Halloween photos and couldn’t resist sharing our costumes from years past. I wish I had some pictures pre-blog, but those are probably on film (gasp!) and buried deep in a box somewhere. Instead, here are my favorite photos from the past five years.
In 2008, Ella had just turned two and was Minnie Mouse! My mom made her costume and my sister bought her ears as a souvenir from Disney World over the summer.
In 2009, she was three years old and was Fancy Nancy obsessed! We wore butterfly wings for a while, but mostly we were just fancy. I ordered her costume from etsy and the “accessories” we found around the house.
2010 was Sophie’s first Halloween and Ella was four. We were a chicken and Olivia the Pig, respectively. The chicken costume was 97 cents on clearance at Old Navy while I was pregnant the fall before and Ella’s costume was pieced together from Mini Boden, eBay and lots of felt work from this momma.
In 2011, Ella was five and Sophie was about 18 months old. The owl costume was another of my creative endeavors and still my favorite costume to date! I’m hoping that I can convince Taz to wear it next year. The cupcake was another clearance deal from Old Navy and she LOVED it!
Last year the girls were seven and two. Ella wanted a “real” cheerleader costume, so we bought her the official NCAA Bama uniform. Thank goodness, it still fits! Sophie wore Ella’s Minnie Mouse costume from 2008 (although we picked up new ears last winter) since she was “Mickey Nouse” obsessed. She begged to wear this costume pretty much every day!
I can’t believe it’s Halloween already and that we’ll have more costumes to share tomorrow! Where did October go? This year was uber simple, but the girls were as happy as ever.
