Fall seems to take forever to arrive in Alabama, but it is slowly making itself known around here. When our friends were in town a few weeks ago, we took all of our girls to the local pumpkin patch on Saturday afternoon. It was hot, but that just meant we had the place to ourselves and boy did we enjoy it!
First up was the corn maze. I’m pretty sure the “exit” that we used was just a path between rows of corn. These girls were leading us around in circles, so we made a mad dash for freedom when we spotted it.
My girls both wanted to take a horse ride and their reactions couldn’t be any different. Sophie was grinning ear to ear from the very beginning and waved to me as she rode off into the sunset.
Ella, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck! She was very concerned about me staying right beside her, but I was so proud when she decided to hold on and ride without my help. She was trying so hard to be brave!
These two wouldn’t let go of each other! Sophie was sitting in my lap while I was uploading these photos and she said, “Emma is my best friend!”
Of course, no trip to Baker’s Farm is complete without climbing the hay stack. All the girls were super excited about making it to the top.
And there has to be a selfie with the hubs.
The last thing on our list was a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out a few pretty gourds for carving later this month. We were each looking for something different and we got four very pretty pumpkins for our porch.
Sophie picked a tiny white one.
I picked a big, fat orange and green one straight out of Cinderella. Doesn’t Josh look thrilled?
Josh and Ella both picked perfectly round, big, orange pumpkins.
I took the biggest girls back to the trailer to wait while everyone else finished picking out pumpkins.
Maelee and her mommy found a perfectly tiny pumpkin just her size!
No trip with our Louisiana sisters is complete without a group picture.
And of course there were these two peas in a pod.
