1. iPhone updates. All day on Wednesday, my news feed was filled with complaints about the new operating system update. It took forever to download. It crashed. It’s too slow. It looks like a kindergartener designed it. Well imagine my surprise yesterday morning when I woke up to a newly updated phone and I was in LOVE. I realize my design aesthetic might be different than everyone else’s, but I think the new look is great! It’s modern and more streamlined and I’m totally digging it. The fonts are beautiful, the color-scheme is lovely and the new functions are so intuitive and easy to use. Thoughts?
2. Survivor. I’ll admit that we don’t watch a whole of television at our house. The kids are obsessed with Disney and Josh watches a lot of sports, but we don’t do sitcoms and it’s rare that a series catches our eye (nothing compares with LOST). In fact, we’ve been trying to figure out for the last few weeks how to cancel our satellite subscription altogether. It’s football that puts a kink in our plans. Anyway, this week was the season premiere of Survivor: Blood vs. Water and it was GOOD. Jeff Probst has got to be the best television host of all time. He is so witty and my favorite part is when he gives the contestants a good ribbing during the challenges (Jarves’ poor swimming abilities this week, for example). This season’s teams are made up of previous players and their loved ones and I love that they were split up into separate teams. The desperation of the newbies is hilarious. Anybody else watch on Wednesday?
3. Shop My Closet. If you read on a regular basis, then you’re probably aware that I’ve lost upwards of twenty pounds in the last 18+ months. It’s been a long, hard process, but I’ve finally worked my way down from a size 12 to an almost 2. It’s kind of crazy. What happens, though, is you end up with NOTHING TO WEAR. I have tons of clothes, but virtually nothing fits. I have an entire wardrobe for sizes 4 through 12, but that doesn’t really do much good if I can’t wear them. Josh keeps reminding me that I cannot swing an entire wardrobe financially, this season, so I’ve been stumped about what to do. I spent the entire weekend trying on everything in my closet and categorizing them by size. I took pictures and created a blog (see the link in the sidebar over there >>>) and listed all of my clothes for the world to see. You know what happened? Almost ten people called on Sunday and wanted to stop by and shop. I made a crazy amount of money and there is still much left to sell. Mostly, I’m excited because I have dinner plans tonight with my best friend and then I’m going to buy a few new things for fall that fit. I need a few new pairs of dress pants, I’m thinking a new fall jacket, I want an off-the-shoulder sweater of some kind and maybe some camo skinny pants. Any other fall must-haves I should consider? Anybody want to buy what’s left? Use the contact button at the top of this blog to send me a message; commenting is disabled in my closet!
4. Football. Again. This past weekend was the big game between Bama and Texas A&M and boy was it a nail-biter. Josh left on Thursday afternoon and drove to College Station with two other guys to watch the game. I won’t lie and say I wasn’t jealous, but I was happy that he got to go. The fourth quarter was unbelievably stressful and I hated thinking that he had to witness that loss in person?! Ella started dozing off near the end of the game and laid her head in my lap. I tried to warn her that if we scored another touchdown she might end up in the floor. Thank goodness she moved, because we pulled it out in the end and there was a lot of jumping around. My favorite part of Josh being at games while we’re watching at home is the fun text messages and photos I get. He usually texts me when we score and I pester him for hours about bringing home a stadium cup (which he did) and sending me pictures from the game. These were the two I got on Saturday. P.S. he’s the one in the shirt).
5. James. I am a part of such an amazing small group Bible study and although we met over the summer for missions projects and dinners out, we weren’t studying the Word together and I missed it. We’ve been back together for the last three Wednesdays studying Beth Moore’s James: Mercy Triumphs and I am learning so much about the brother of Christ and his message for believers. I found this image on Pinterest and it is one of my favorite verses so far!

I’m loving these Friday posts — it’s so nice to have a way to blog all of the little things that never stand a chance of having their own post. Have a wonderful weekend, friends! I’m looking forward to sleeping late tomorrow, drinking a pot of coffee all by myself and maybe hitting the pavement for a few miles. Happy Friday!
