Since MK is clearly the kiddos favorite, we spent a lot of time there. It was especially easy to spend a few hours there on the days we did EC and HS since those could be covered in a relatively short period of time. When Ella & Molly posed for the picture above, the Disney photographer didn’t tell them what they were so excited about. They loved it when we pulled the photos up that night in our room!
Since our first attempt with Ariel was such a disaster, we decided to try again. Sophie was still pretty timid at the beginning, but she eventually warmed up. They talked about Flounder and Sophie FINALLY sang for her. It was adorable and worth the five day wait.
We also managed to catch Peter Pan on our way to Adventureland. Sophie would have nothing to do with him. The only man she was interested in was Captain Hook!
After many, many conversations, we finally managed to talk Ella into riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. She was nervous about another coaster, but this ended up being her favorite ride. We rode it multiple times that day and the next.
We finished up our time in MK at my favorite restaurant in the park, Casey’s Corner. It’s right along Main Street USA, with a beautiful view of the castle. You can only eat so many burgers and chicken finger baskets, so the hotdog and home fries were a welcome change. Everybody enjoyed this lunch and then we watched a sweet show at Cinderella’s castle before heading to Epcot Center for the afternoon.
We were only doing one half of EC this day, so we spent our time in Future World. Our first stop was for real ice cream! We’d had multiple ice cream treats throughout the week, but Ella (me, too!!) is a little obsessed with mint-chocolate-chip ice cream, so when we spotted this restaurant, we couldn’t resist.
In case you weren’t following along via Instagram at the time, this is where we spotted a lady with an extra pair of panties tucked into the hood of her sweater?! They clearly just stuck together as she was taking things out of the dryer, but we couldn’t help but giggle. She was with a huge group of people and there was NO mistaking what it was – why weren’t they telling her?!?! The hoodie was tied around her waist, so the panties were eye level for my children and it was all we could do to get out of there without causing a scene.
The girls favorite part of Future World was The Seas with Nemo & Friends. It is a fun aquarium-like arena with lots of under-water things to see.
There is an interactive experience with Crush (the turtle from Finding Nemo) here and the girls were anxiously waiting our turn. Crush actually called on Ella to answer some questions and when he was done with her, he asked where her mother was?! I was mortified to be called on by a turtle in front of 100 random strangers, but I manged not to sound like a complete idiot while I answered his questions about where we were from and how we were enjoying our trip.
As much fun as we were having, we were not excited about our trip coming to a close. Just one more day in paradise.
