/365: This is how I found the girls in their bed on Monday morning. I went in their room to grab something before work and they were all snuggled up together in the middle of their bed. I seriously LOVE my girls sharing a room. Later that day, Ella lost her third tooth! This is the first time she’s been left with a gap, though (her bottom teeth were completely in already when the baby teeth fell out), and I think it’s adorable. I also had my sixth hot yoga class on Monday night and the instructor snapped the photo of my camel pose. I had to miss class this week, but I am really enjoying it!
/365: On Tuesday, I managed to fit a quick run in on my lunch break. I’m working on my 5k time and trying to shave it down to 25:30 before my race in late June. This was a personal record for me, so I was thrilled with the time, but after considering the amount of time I waited at red lights during the run, I’m confident I would have been much closer to my goal if I had been running country miles instead!
/365: On Wednesday the only photo I took was for the Pinstyle challenge, but I did share this one on Instagram. For those of you who don’t know, my sister is an amazing photographer. She works for a publishing company in Birmingham taking photographs for several national magazines, but in her spare time she does lifestyle and wedding photography. She shot the wedding of my husband’s brother last month and this was one she got of us after Josh shed his wedding attire. The bride & groom had a super-fun after party at a local bar with a live band and dancing. This is officially my new favorite photo with SD.
/365: Thursday was the best date ever. Josh indulged me (he isn’t a Mayer fan and doesn’t do concerts) and took me to see my boyfriend in concert. In case you’re not a total fangirl like me, he hasn’t toured since 2010 (I was 9 months preggers with SK then, but didn’t miss the Birmingham show!) because of some health issue related to his vocal chords. After cancelling his tour last summer, we were anxious about whether we would ever see him perform live again. Of course, when he announced his first full set would be on stage in Tuscaloosa, we planned a little road trip! I scored tickets on the 16th row, right in the center and we had a BLAST. I danced my sweet little heart out and Josh did a very good job of pretending he had a good time. The show was wonderful and I can’t wait to see him again in September (yes, I bought tickets for later in the tour and plan to take Ella for her birthday).
/365: On Friday night, I met with my small group for an intense Bible study on Heaven, Hell and the End of the World. If you aren’t familiar with the concept of Secret Church, you can read more about it here. David Platt is a pastor at a local church in our area and an amazing speaker. We listened for more than six hours as he taught us all kinds of things we didn’t know. Of course, I was sporting my concert t-shirt from the night before. I had to add one to my ever-growing collection. Josh made fun of me earlier this week because I was wearing a Mayer concert tee while folding laundry and we counted four more in my pile. I’ve seen him 7 times and have at least one shirt from each show. I realize how ridiculous this makes me, but I have a serious crush. Josh gives me a pass on this one, ha ha.
/365: Saturday morning I had the pleasure of sleeping in and having a lazy morning at home with a book and a pot of coffee while my entire family was elsewhere. It was much needed after the previous two nights of crawling into bed at 1 o’clock in the morning. After I picked the girls up from Josh’s parents’ house, we headed to the Birmingham Zoo for a birthday party and spent a fun afternoon with my dad. We saw the Dinosaur exhibit, rode the carousel and the train and even managed to squeeze in a camel ride while we were there! Later that night, the youth choir at our church held a womanless pageant at our church called “Beauty in the Beast” to raise money for their summer tour. Josh was a contestant and he was one ugly woman! The braids were the best part, I think! My brother-in-law won the pageant but he was a shoe-in as the pregnant contestant with a short curly wig. We had such a great time watching the boys be so silly!
/365: Remember when I told you last week about my fitness challenge? Well, after church on Sunday evening, I ran to the grocery store and stocked up on good food for the week. I spent some time cutting up fruits & veggies, shredding a rotisserie chicken and preparing some other chicken breasts for meals this week. I am determined to eat as clean as possible this month and be ready for bathing suit season by Memorial Day!
