/365: This was my third week of hot yoga and I’m loving it. It’s a 90 minute class and it gets HOT in there. The thermometer read 105* at one point! I wish I could go twice a week, but with Bible Study, two nights of dance for Ella and just life in general, I can’t abandon Josh one more night during the week. I also got to see Gran’s creation for Sophie’s party when I got home on Monday night. This is a little sneak peek of SK’s Alice in Wonderland get up for her tea party on Sunday. Adorbs, right? Just a few more days and I’ll have photos of another birthday bash to share. Ella’s fancy party was for her third birthday and we wanted to something equally “fancy” for SK.
/365: Did you know about this? It’s kind of hard to believe that there are 27 million slaves in the world today (more than any other time in history) while we’re walking around in expensive clothes drinking our lattes, right? Tuesday was “Shine the Light” day and I wore a red X on my hand to bring awareness to this organization. The concept was to prompt others to ask why you were wearing it and let me say that it worked. I got to tell several people during the day why I was wearing it and posted the photo to Facebook & Instagram. You should search the hashtag (#enditmovement) on Instagram and see all of the photos – celebrities and everyday people alike were sharing their hands all day! Later that night, Taz and I went to the store and did some birthday party shopping. She LOVES to ride on the back of the shopping cart.
/365: On Wednesday, Ella had a class trip to the Birmingham Children’s Theatre. It makes for an almost hour long bus ride for them, but the good news is that it’s only a few blocks from my office! Instead of having to take a day off work, I got to take a long lunch and meet her class there. We saw Charlotte’s Web, which they are reading in class, and it was adorable. I got to hang out with her and her friend, Emily, and Gran for a few hours.
/365: The blog has been bothering me a bit lately. I loved the photos in our header, but I hate having to change them out with the seasons or as the girls grow. I know it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but we’ve discussed in length how much I have going on and how little free time that leaves behind. I decided to streamline it a bit and I think this might be my favorite design ever. I’m hoping it sticks around for awhile. I added a few new sidebar links, including all the other ways you can find me on the web, my maternity photo series and a permanent link to my before & after photos from last summer. I hesitated to have those where you could easily find them before, but since I’ve kept the weight off for almost a year, I figured it was time to own the before pictures. Speaking of weight loss, I logged a few more miles over lunch on Thursday. We were slated for some pretty big storms and I was secretly hoping for a few sprinkles during the run, but instead I got hot and muggy. Some poorly timed red lights forced me to circle a few city blocks while I waited, adding almost a half mile onto my normally four mile route. I made good time, though, which was good since I had to take a shower when I got back to the office!
/365: On Friday afternoon, Ella had dance pictures at the studio. We normally do them during our class time, but she’s on the competition team this year we had more pictures to take than normal and we did them on Friday night instead. These three girls are a constant source of entertainment, but this night they were in rare form. We even had to let them have their picture made together with sassy faces and all. After we finished up, I went back to my mom’s house to get the birthday party sweatshop in full swing. We decorated cupcakes, made paper garlands and I decorated the chalkboard in my parents’ kitchen for the party.
/365: Saturday was a gorgeous day and we had lots of fun things planned! SD played in the alumni baseball game at our high school alma mater and the girls and I watched him play the first game. It was so good to see our childhood friends and I always love watching Josh play baseball on the field where I fell in love with him. Afterwards, we had a very special princess birthday party to attend and we had a yummy crawfish boil at our best friend’s parents’ house. If Saturday is any indication, spring and summer around here is going to be pretty spectacular.
/265: On Sunday, my little Taz turned three and we had a pretty fantastic tea party in her honor. My insanely talented sister photographed the event, so I’ll be sharing some gorgeous photographs any day now. Right, K?
