36/365: I ran 4.5 miles at lunch on Tuesday and even though it was gloomy outside, I really needed to stretch my legs. I was almost half-way through the run when it started sprinkling outside and before I knew it the skies had opened up and I was running in a flood. I was 20 blocks from my office and already soaked, so I just kept on running and actually enjoyed myself. It was about 50* out there and I just laughed the whole way back. I got lots of strange looks and plenty of smiles – I was clearly the only crazy person running in the rain! The good news? I ran MUCH faster than my norm and was super impressed with myself. In case I haven’t said it enough, I love the RunKeeper app to track my runs and measure distance and pace. You should try it out and be my friend.
37/365: We had dinner instead of Bible Study on Wednesday night. We met at a local Mexican restaurant and chowed down. We didn’t completely ignore our studies, we just needed a planning meeting for upcoming projects and decided to have it over chips and cheese. Good call, right? 38/365: On Thursday lots of design goodies were delivered to my office. Yay for baby shower wish cards, family cards and gift enclosures.
39/365: Ella had an extra dance practice on Friday night since we’re less than a month away from their first competition. We had dinner with K & Cory while she was dancing and then the girls went shopping while the boys went to a basketball game. We decimated Target’s clearance section and got several new prizes. See that awesome rhinestone necklace? EIGHT DOLLARS PEOPLE. 40/365: By Saturday I was already tapering my runs to get ready for the half-marathon this weekend and my legs and toes needed serious attention. I decided an afternoon pedicure would do the trick and got a fabulous calf-massage while I was at it.
41/365: We somehow managed to be childless on Sunday evening since both of my girls were spending the night away from home. We decided to have Cracker Barrel for dinner and I got their infamous Sunday’s Best fried chicken. We went with our favorite two people (that makes two adult dinners with them in three days?!), sang Mumford & Sons all the way there and back and bought yummy candy in the gift shop afterward. We topped it off with the mid-season premiere of Walking Dead and had a pretty spectacular date night! 42/365: On Monday, my first “fix” came from Stitch Fix and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I can’t wait to show you what all was in that box!
