Admittedly, the blog was a little lacking last year, so the annual recap might look a little slim. Forgiveness is a good thing, friends!
In January, I made a few “reVolutions” and actually managed to stick with some of them. Josh left for NOLA without me to cheer on the Tide and boy did he have a great time! I resorted to documenting a rather mundane Tuesday night, but isn’t this sweet girl adorable? We rounded out the month with our annual visit to the Barnum & Bailey circus.
February brought an art show at Ella’s elementary school, I talked about why I’m not a stay-at-home mom and shared a sweet story about my Valentine. Josh invited me on an impromptu date night and I shared another day-in-the-life post.
March was when Josh got stuck in NYC and I continued to run. Our high-school held the annual Alumni baseball tournament and I sulked about the lack of baseball pants. Our sweet friends became our neighbors and I ran my first road race.
As April rolled into town we celebrated Easter together at home and once again with our family. We managed to add livestock to the list of things we own and we celebrated a very Hoppy Birthday for Sophie Kae!
May was the month I spent the smallest amount of time blogging… but we did manage to lose our first tooth, visit the dentist and have a pretty fantastic Memorial Day.
June is always one of my favorite months and this past year didn’t disappoint. Ella finished her first year of “BIG” school and waved goodbye to 4 year old kindergarten. We attended a community picnic in the park and even got to go on a pony ride! After months of hard work, I ignored my vanity and shared before & afters of my fitness journey. We watched Ella perform in her third dance recital and finally admitted out loud that I’m a dance mom. We rounded out the month in our favorite place on earth and I wore a bikini in public!
In July we said Happy Birthday America and celebrated with fireworks and football. We also squeezed in a second family trip to the beach and caught sight of the Blue Angels. I helped throw a housewarming party for my future sister-in-law, moved the girls into a bigger bed and snuck off to the beach ONE MORE TIME with some of my best girl friends.
In August we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary and went on the BEST date ever. I interviewed Ella and Sophie before the school year began and documented Ella’s first day of kindergarten. At the very end of the month we took our (now-annual) weekend getaway sans children and sang Rammer Jammer at the top of our lungs in Dallas.
September was a month of blog catch up with way too many P365 posts. We did manage to throw a fantastic cowgirl birthday party and I shared a little about how I wanted Jen Hatmaker to be my new best friend!
In October I share more about my experience at the Dot Mom conference and we had a blast at our high-school alumni Homecoming tailgate. We went to this fabulous birthday party and I got my first ever negative blog comment. Oh, and we celebrated Halloween even though it didn’t get blogged about until December!
I shared a panoramic view of my office in November, even though I doubt anyone really cared. I celebrated my 32nd birthday and didn’t take a single photograph with my camera. What a loser!
December was amazing, as usual. We squeezed in a visit with Santa Clause and watched his merry elf hide in a new spot each day of the month. We had a wonderful Christmas (even though I haven’t blogged about it) and finished the year in the Happiest Place on Earth!!
