12/2: Naps. That is all we managed to accomplish last Sunday after church. We were exhausted from the football party the night before (Roll Tide!) and their failure to take a nap. Despite how tired they were, they couldn’t shut it off, so SD separated them and this little slept on the couch. They slept through Mission Friends that night, so I went to church solo and left them all at home. I also got a text at 8:50 begging for a milkshake, so I rushed home from choir practice and managed to sneak it and grab drinks before they closed. THIS is what my counter looked like before bed on Sunday night. A week’s worth of styrofoam cups had accumulated.
12/3: My 5 year anniversary at work brought this bouquet of 15 roses and eucalyptus. Not only was it pretty, but it smelled like heaven!
12/4: Tuesday night was our small town Christmas parade and the girls had so much fun! Luckily we live within walking distance of downtown, so we held hands and took a stroll. Did you know we have the largest decorated tree in the state of Alabama? It’s huge and they light it just after the parade. We enjoyed some tootsie rolls and a few laughs with our friends before the big guy rolled into town. As soon as she saw him Sophie yelled, “SANTA!! Bring me a purple umbrella!!”
12/5: Dude, Wednesday’s wreck me. I was all over the place trying to get Ella from dance and make it to choir practice. Photos do not exist on Wednesday.
12/6: On Thursdays I pick Ella up from ballet and SK is usually there to hang out. Most weeks she’s bored and playing with somebody’s iPhone or driving another mommy crazy, but fortunately her friend Evie brought My Little Ponies and other small toys and they played together in the halls while we waited.
12/6: My Christmas cards also arrived on Thursday (even though they haven’t been addressed or mailed yet) and I’m so happy with how they turned out! My printer added some new paper options and I’m super happy with all of my designs this year.
12/7: Josh had a basketball game on Friday night and Ella went with him. Sophie and I got some bills paid and did a little pre-decorating housework while they were gone. I noticed that she got really quiet and found this when I went to check on her. She pulled out almost 25 bottles of acrylic paint from my cabinet and lined them up in her room. THANK the heavens she didn’t attempt to open them, but she was pretty impressed with her straight line.
12/8: I finally tackled the rest of my Christmas decorating. I managed to add lights and garland to every surface of my living and dining rooms, even the arch! I really wanted fresh garlands, but Lowe’s was all out. I added burlap and magnolia leaves to this faux evergreen one and it worked out just as well.
