I can’t believe it’s already Christmas Eve and that Scout will be headed home in a matter of hours. This holiday season has really flown by and I’m not sure I got to enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I do know that my girls have had so much fun at parties and plays, we’ve read a Christmas book a day this month and played with our nativity scenes more times than I can count. They have loved waking up each morning and going on a hunt for our favorite elf and we will miss him when he boards Santa’s sleigh tonight. Here’s to hoping your elf left lots of magic at your house and that Santa pays you a very special visit!
Day 13: Scout was dancing the Nutcracker, complete with a pink tulle tutu.
Day 14: Somehow he got trapped in the bookcases. Even SK said, “He open da door?”
Day 15: The flu crashed our party, but Scout helped dispense meds and take temperatures.
Day 16: He made a Get Well Soon card and while I was napping Ella added those hearts?! I find it hard to believe there was no touching involved.
Day 17: Our pretty nativity scene was finally unboxed and we found Scout hanging out with the shepherds.
Day 18: Apparently he wasn’t a fan of the stable, because the very next day he was doing some house hunting.
Day 19: The girls had a hard time finding him on Wednesday morning, but spotted him on the other side of our front door. He was hanging out on the wreath and Ella had to be very careful letting B in and out all day.
Day 20: He must be looking for adventure because we found him climbing the garland in our living room. Look at that form!
Day 21: The Mayans were wrong about the apocalypse, but Scout was prepared just the same.
Day 22: He was boarding a jet plane for a destination unknown. SK said, “He’s ready for take off!”
Day 23: His time with us was almost over and he made the most of it my romancing a Barbie by Christmas light. It was a quite impressive spread.
Day 24: On his last morning with us, he came bearing gifts: a letter from Santa, new Christmas pajamas and the Magic Key.
See you next year, Scout!
