Instead of posting many meager, unimportant blog posts, I thought I’d just combine everything I wanted to say in a list. It’s been awhile since I did that and I think it’s high time!

I cannot eat super healthy AND run at the same time. Can’t do it. Running makes me hungry. Like, cross a nine-month pregnant woman with a growing boy and see what happens. I need carbs and sugar and all that stuff to keep my energy up. I don’t want you to think I’m sitting around eating rice crispy treats and washing them down with DP all the time, because I’m not. I’m eating salads and lean meat and drinking plenty of water (especially on running days), but I need bread in my life right now.

I registered for the Mercedes half-marathon yesterday. It set me back seventy bucks so there’s no turning back now. I keep thinking about how bad it will suck if I can’t do it, but then I remind myself that I have nineteen more weeks to train and I keep imaging how awesome it will be to cross the finish line. I will have a 13.1 sticker on my car come February. Watch me.

I downloaded a training program app on my phone to help me keep up with workouts. I’m running four days a week and resting two. Two days are short runs (2-3 miles at a slow pace) and the other two days are speed workouts and longer runs (7-11 miles at a moderate pace). It makes me nervous if I look too far ahead, so I’m taking it one day at a time. Today is my first five miler. Prayers, please.

I’m thinking about adding 1 to 2 days of Insanity back to my schedule in a few weeks for strength/cross training. Shaun T scares me, though, and it’s been awhile. Scary!

Last weekend, I ran a 5k with my cousins in Tuscaloosa and had a BLAST. I have some great photos and videos to share, but I’m waiting on the official race photos first. Fun times were had by all.

In non running-related news, mothering has improved. Consistency tempered with a good dose of grounding seems to do the trick. She’s been more receptive to my requests and had a much better attitude this week. The problem wasn’t solved, but it’s definitely improved!

The cleaning chart is still pretty awesome. Our weekend was a little crazy and SD has been sick, so the last few days were a bust. In general, though, we’ve kept up with everything and I’m enjoying knowing what each day holds and how many more things I need to do before I can sit down and relax.

Are you watching Revolution on Monday nights? Y’all know I’m not a big TV watcher (Grey’s, Survivor and Walking Dead are enough to keep me happy), but I’ve been sucked into this series this season. Josh is still on the fence because the acting isn’t stellar, but I’m hoping it improves enough to be renewed for a second season. The story line has excellent potential!

Not only did I read Gone Girl, but I devoured Dark Places and Sharp Objects in the span of ten days. Yes, the reading was dark and there was some language and even an ambiguous ending (or two), but man did I love these books. Why hasn’t she written more?
-
Any other recommendations? I’m reading World War Z right now (hello, Zombie war) and The Red Tent is next. I’ve read it before (2001) and then declared it my favorite book ever, so I decided it was time to read it again and see if I’ve changed my mind.

Has anybody upgraded to the iPhone 5? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the extra dough come November. My sweet little 3 has seen better days and I’m debating the 5 versus 4s. Thoughts?

I have nothing to wear because last fall I was almost 15 pounds heavier. Ugh. That sounds gross just to type. I ran to LOFT last week when they were having a 50% off sale and snagged a new pair of dress pants (size 4) and two new tops (small) and was BEYOND excited. I picked up a few more tops at TJMaxx and ordered this after seeing it on Pinterest. I’m thinking I’ll dig through the cold-weather bins this weekend and see where I really stand.

I really want to see Taken 2 while it’s in the theater. Football season kind of puts the kibosh on date nights unless they happen in Tuscaloosa.
-
I think we’re going to the Texas A&M game and maybe Mississippi State. Weird that I’m already planning my outfits?
-
My birthday is next month and I’m pretty sure I’m getting Iron Bowl tickets. I want a Garmin (running watch, not for the car), but I can’t have both. Decisions, decisions.
-
I bought another EOS lip gloss last week. The tangerine was found at Wal-Mart. I’m up to four now, but I’m not opposed to expanding my collection for the right flavor.
-
Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out in another month and I am giddy. We’re ordering tickets this week. I bought the special People magazine on Sunday and devoured it while everyone else napped. Now if RPatt and KStew could just kiss and make up already the world would be a better place.

Christmas is just a little over two months away and I cannot wait. I know part of it is because I’m done shopping, but it helps that we’re giving the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER. I’m such a child when it comes to holidays!

Yesterday I cooked a pot roast in the crockpot and it was yummy. I love dinner being ready when I walk in the back door and there is nothing better that a warm meal on a chilly day!
- This is my favorite post of the week. Great read, Ashley.
Twenty is good, right? Anything on your list this week? Fall shopping must-haves? Yummy fall recipes? Do tell.
