It’s official: I’m a dance mom. But I’ll tell you about that in a minute. This was such a fun year for Ella and I have to admit, I pretty much loved it, too. Not only does she love her studio, her teachers and her friends, but I have really enjoyed meeting the other moms and hanging out with them during class each week. As tired as we are on Thursday nights after class, I know that this is benefiting us both in so many ways.
This year, she moved up into the Tiny Dancer 2 class and the group of girls she danced with could not have been more adorable. They had such a great time together this year and it was so fun watching them grow over the last ten months. They are such little hams and even when they weren’t on stage, they always had their dance faces on!
Her first two years, Ella took ballet and tap, but this year we did tap and jazz. Her jazz routine to Witchdoctor was adorable and for the tap routine they danced to Love & Marriage. I’m guessing I do not have to tell you how we felt about seeing her in a wedding dress. Not cool, even if she did look precious in it!
This was the third year she danced with Kynnedi & Natalie and they have become such sweet friends.
To say she was excited about the next two photos would be an understatement. She loved knowing that Mrs. Amanda was there to watch them all dance and she could not love her teacher, Haley, any more than she already does. We are lucky that she has moved up with her class each year and we are keeping our fingers crossed about next season. It just wouldn’t be the same without her!
Yay, for managing to get this entire group in one picture. I almost never manage to get a picture with one set of grandparents, much less two. We’ve all joked about why SD is standing so far away from us in this image. Maybe E & I were smelly after running around backstage for two hours.
It was more than appropriate that I managed to get these images uploaded today because we got a very exciting email from Ella’s studio this morning. We heard several months ago that they were considering putting together a competition team for the younger girls this year and to keep our eyes and ears open about auditions over the summer. Ella was excited and nervous as we talked about it and we were looking forward to giving it a shot. Instead, we got an email this morning congratulating her. The Tiny Competition team was hand-selected by the faculty this year and she was one of seven girls from her class who were invited to participate! We are so proud of her hard work and cannot wait to see how much she learns and grows next season. It will mean an extra class each week, but I know she will more than rise to the occasion.
