Are you impressed that my weekly recap post is actually posted on a Sunday morning? And I didn’t even schedule it to post, I just managed to get my family ready for church early and I finally got a second to sit down. I’ve even managed to listen to the same Justin Bieber song on repeat for the last hour and I haven’t committed a crime yet. That’s impressive.
Sunday, May 13 (Day 134): My Mother’s Day was so wonderful last week. I didn’t take enough photos to justify an entire post, so this late afternoon one will just have to do. For the record, I got wonderful crafts and a gift certificate to Anthropologie. I had breakfast with my mom, visited my mother-in-law in the evening and managed to squeeze a glorious nap in between.
Monday, May 14 (Day 135): On Monday, Josh & I started a new diet. It’s sort of a modified paleo diet, since we’re eating a little dairy, but we’re pretty much eating meat, veggies and fruit and trying to steer clear of anything in a box or bag. I won’t say it isn’t easy, but we know it’s better for us and I’ve lost 1.8 pounds this week. It has certainly helped me get over the hump. The downside? I’ve had grass for lunch and dinner for the last seven days!
Tuesday, May 15 (Day 136): Since this is pretty much the only sweet I can have other than fruit, I’m having a love affair with dark chocolate right now!
Wednesday, May 16 (Day 137): My Bible study group is finishing up our book this week, but David Platt’s Radical has really been thought-altering for me. I hope I can ultimately say it’s life-changing, but at the least it is convicting and pushing me to think about things I’ve never considered.
Thursday, May 17 (Day 138): On my way to meet Ella for dance class on Thursday afternoon, I grabbed a strawberry & peach smoothie and it was YUMMY. Not exactly process-free, but it would have to do in a pinch!
Friday, May 18 (Day 139): Is it sad that so many of my pictures are food this week? For lunch on Friday, I made a salad with lots of things left over in our fridge: lettuce, pico de gallo, grilled chicken and sharp white cheddar.
Saturday, May 19 (Day 140): Saturday night the girls wanted to watch the Preakness with us, but they were napping so we had to record it. When they got up they both talked nonstop about the horse race until we watched it. They were so cute cheering the horses on! Afterwards, we had to sneak in some Mickey “Nouse” in mommy’s bed. That’s one of my girls favorite places!
