My goal this week is to get back on a very regular schedule for blogging. I have edited and uploaded countless photographs to flickr and I have managed to post for four consecutive days. Pretty fantastic, right? The only problem is, I’m pretty sure I’ve run all one hundred of you off. Can you comment and tell me that you survived the drought? I promise to try REALLY hard not to leave you hanging again.
Sunday, May 20 (Day 141): I think I’ve professed my love for Barber’s TruMoo chocolate milk enough on the blog, but just in case I want you to know that I CANNOT live without it. In fact, as I was typing this post last night SD was moping around, sad that we were out. Ummm, no. I made a special trip to Walmart and stocked the fridge. I’m drinking it while I blog. And the reason my husband looks all 1980’s with his sweat band in this picture? We had just finished our Insanity workout (a day late) and fixed a nice big glass before we crashed. Yum. Chocolate milk immediately following a super-sweaty workout = perfection.
Monday, May 21 (Day 142): While I know the photo prompt was referring to an issue that I feel strongly about, I try to steer clear of political speak on the family blog. Instead, I decided to be literal. Ella’s preschool graduation was Monday and I left work after half a day to meet SD there. I decided to run in and grab us a yummy grilled chicken salad on my way home. I snapped this picture while I stood in line.
Tuesday, May 22 (Day 143): To say I was tickled pink is an major understatement. I adore JM and was super sad that the tour was cancelled and I missed hearing this album live last month. Instead, I pre-ordered Born & Raised and watched that red indicator stare at me from my phone for weeks until the release date. It has seriously been on repeat since then and Ella & Soph were both singing in the car today… “it takes a foooooool to love you…”.
Wednesday, May 23 (Day 144): I don’t talk much about my job on the blog, but I couldn’t love it any more than I do. I work for the oldest continuous law practice in the state of Alabama. I am a paralegal and in charge of managing legal technology for trial and litigation prep. It is fun and challenging and sometimes overwhelming. This was my desk on Wednesday morning. By Friday, I was tired of looking at all of the piles and stacks and decided to spend a few hours filing and organizing myself.
Thursday, May 24 (Day 145): On Wednesday afternoon a box arrived in the mail. I ordered these nifty Hydros water bottles from Zulily a few weeks ago and was glad to see them arrive. Josh & I drink so much water and the number of bottles that end up in the trash is astounding. Not only do we not have recycling in our neighborhood, but the 30 bottles of water take up precious real estate in the fridge! We opted to buy some nice self-filtering bottles to drink out of instead. I’m having to get used to the taste, but I enjoy not constantly picking up bottles off of every surface!
Friday, May 25 (Day 146): I’ve been doing really well avoiding fast food and big sugary drinks these days. In fact, for the last two weeks Josh & I have been eating a modified paleo diet (includes some low-fat dairy, beans and we eat one cheat meal a week) and I’ve had either eggs or fruit for breakfast every day. On Friday, he & Ella went to play golf and he treated her to a biscuit for breakfast. Not to be outdone, I swung through the drive-through at CFA and grabbed a sausage biscuit and a DP on my way to work. Can you believe I still managed to stay under my 1200 calorie daily goal?
Saturday, May 26 (Day 147): Yesterday was a really fun day. Ella spent Friday night with my parents and after Josh & I worked out, he headed to Hoover for the SEC baseball tournament. Sophie and I did some summer shopping, ran to Wal-Mart for pool supplies and grabbed lunch at Panera Bread. It is fun spending one on one time with her these days, especially since she’s talking so much and so well. And what is lunch at Panera without a tasty dessert for the little?
