You know how it is when I get a bee in my bonnet, right? Once I started thinking about a re-design, I couldn’t stop. I had several hours to myself, two nights in a row, and I started playing around with the graphics. Once last night about 10 o’clock, Josh walked through and I was grinning ear to ear. He came around and saw me tweaking some code and called me a geek on his way back to bed!
I’m not completely finished — the font on the family page doesn’t translate as well as I thought it would and the photograph of our house in the header is a little rough. I didn’t notice until Josh pointed it out, that it was taken pre-metal roof and looks heinous!! Unfortunately, all of the recent photos are in the dead of winter, it’s snowing or the bushes are too tall to see the porch. I’ll have to save that update for a pretty spring day, but it isn’t a deal breaker for now.
As far as navigation goes, I eliminated a bunch of sidebar items that were rarely used and moved the followers / prior posts / labels to the bottom of the blog. I added some new fonts for my post-titles and dates and a pretty little “pin it” button for underneath the posts. I’m sure I’ll find something else to change, but for now… I’m happy. I never felt like the previous design was ME and this pretty pink business definitely is!And since I cannot bear to type a post without pictures, here a few on our way out the door for Josh’s Birthday on Tuesday. She couldn’t resist posing for pics in her new snazzy shoes.
Y’all know Ella loves her fashion! I hit the jackpot over the weekend at Target for the girls and she wanted to show off. I got her THREE pairs of shoes for $5 each and Sophie a cute pair of boots for $6. The leopard print sweater was about $4, I think, and I got them both some leggings and cardis for school. I doubt I spent sixty bucks total and they racked up. The polka dotsy socks are from Gap, on clearance thankyouverymuch, and she got some other cute striped ones, too. These were purchased right alongside those shirts I bought for Josh. You know? The ones that didn’t fit.
More coherent posting tomorrow, I promise!
