Well, friends, I’m pretty impressed with myself. I cannot believe that I managed to take a single photograph every day of the month. Yes, I realize it isn’t that difficult to carry your phone around and take a crappy picture, but since I’ve been in a blogging/picture taking funk for the last six months I would say this was a monumental task accomplished!
I’m really happy with my little calendar for the month. I really wanted the images to be clickable so you could view them full sized, but that is pretty time consuming and I didn’t quite get to it. Maybe next month. When I decided to create one for each month of the year I didn’t really have an idea in mind for what I would do with them all. Maybe I’ll print them for a scrapbook or make a photobook or something. Any ideas?
Aside from Project 365, my blog was pretty lackluster this month. I don’t know what has gotten into me! I promise there are good things in store. I’m noticing that the “followers” of LPD have grown and I find it funny that it happened in my worst month ever. I’m kind of itching for a new blog design around here (I know, I know — it hasn’t been that long) and I’m trying to encourage myself to set up a regular blogging schedule to keep me on track. Are there any kinds of posts you would like to see more of? Anything you miss? Any questions you want me to answer while I’m bored out of my gourd?
Now, about those revolutions. Let’s see how well I did for the month of January, shall we?
- I bought the first gift of 2012. Even though Josh’s real birthday present was this, I hated for him not to have a little something to open. I picked him up a few shirts from GAP over the weekend. When he opened them, I argued with him about what size he is. He was right and the shirts were too small. Wife fail. They’re going back today.
- Meal planning has helped exponentially. We’ve been to the grocery store as a family and spent Sunday afternoons couponing, making lists and deciding on meals for the week. We are still eating out way too much (mostly fast food – yuck!), but we’re making improvements.
- Early bath time is awesome, the laundry is currently caught up and my house is “almost” clean.
- All the bills for January were paid timely and I kept up with my checkbook on a regular basis. Again, we spent too much money on food, but we stayed within our overall budget.
- I bought three things for myself this month instead of two, but that should be considered a huge success. I bought a winter jacket, new pumps for work and a cute sweater for Bama games. SD totally gave me a pass on that last one.
- I already told you I ordered 3 gifts each for the girls for Christmas this year, so that’s going well.
- I read three books this month (The Millennium Series — Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Girl who Played with Fire and Girl who kicked the Hornet’s Nest) and they were fantastic. I’m currently looking for at least two books for February… any suggestions?
The things I didn’t do so well with were using my Life Planner, getting back into the gym and blogging. Those are all things I plan to excel in this month! In fact, I have two more cute posts for tomorrow and Friday so come back soon.
