Today was my last doctor’s appointment before the big day. I was scheduled for my bi-weekly non-stress test and planned to take Ella along. She loves going to the appointments, visiting my sweet doctor and hearing Sophie’s heartbeat. My mom was worried that I’d get there with her and they would decide to keep me and we’d be stuck! Luckily, they had a weather-day and she got to tag along, too.
For those of you unfamiliar, a non-stress test measures the babies heartbeat, movement and any contractions I might be having while at rest. No stress is applied to the baby, I just get to hang out in a comfy chair for 20 minutes and hear Sophie’s heartbeat, wiggles, kicks and hiccups while the doctor watches the results.
Ella & Gran came in and kept me company, so I snapped a sweet picture of them, too. Ella wasn’t sure about being anywhere close to me and told me in no uncertain terms that she didn’t like me being on the monitors. She wore bunny’s ears out, wringing her with anxiety! I explained that it didn’t hurt and she finally came over for a photo-op.
I have miraculously only gained 27 pounds this pregnancy {5 less than with Ella}, my blood pressure was awesome and despite ferocious contractions, I’ve made exactly no progress towards labor. Apparently contractions have ZERO effect on my body whatsoever. Hence, the c-section on Wednesday morning. I was cleared to come back at the crack of dawn on April 14th to meet my sweet girl.
After some light shopping {with no money spent}, a car wash, new lens cover for my camera and a yummy lunch at Moe’s, we were home for a nap. Gran & SD were sweet enough to clean my whole house and work in the yard and we are happily awaiting the arrival of our sweet Sophie Kae.
We have more fun things to share tomorrow, as well as the last belly shot of the pregnancy {K got stuck at a photoshoot, so it will be a day late, but as fabulous as ever!}. See you then!
