On Easter Sunday, I decided to get up early to make sure we had plenty of time to enjoy each other and still get out the door on time for church. I was up by 5:30 “making sure the Bunny hid the eggs” and moving the girls Easter Baskets from the kitchen counter. I’m sure the Bunny put them there to keep little gray paws out of the chocolate! I baked apples-in-a-blanket for breakfast, ironed our Easter clothes and had a cup of coffee before I was greeted by my little princess.
A little person screamed at me and as soon as I opened the door she was off to see what the Bunny brought. I did manage to convince her to wake daddy first, but as you can tell from the pictures, he wasn’t quite ready to be up. From mommy and daddy, Ella got a new Bitty Baby ballerina outfit that she’s been begging to have for months. She was pretty excited to see it.
The Easter baskets also proved to be a big hit. Since Sophie wasn’t technically available to open her goodies, Ella was in heaven with two baskets to dig through.
Ella’s basket was filled with new rubber rain boots, the Myley Cyrus CD, a pretty striped bathing suit, Hello Kitty toothbrush, bubble bath, a Fancy Nancy Easter book, a sweet apron dress and LOTS of candy.
Sophie’s basket had a yellow ducky hooded towel and washcloths, a floral bathing suit, pacifiers, bibs, a rattle toy, a counting book, bottle brushes and plenty of candy to share with her mommy.
She thought these looked pretty fabulous with her new pajamas.
She got a new book from Gran & Poppy about a ballerina duck and we read it first thing Sunday morning, right before Fancy Nancy. Then, she finally realized that her eggs were missing. The Bunny hid them all over the house and boy did we have fun tracking them down.
He hid some of them way up high. I guess he was worried about Beemer having a little midnight snack. Ella wasn’t interested in being held up high, so SD and I got to fetch these eggs ourselves.
Of course no Easter is complete without a Reese’s egg for breakfast.
and a gratuitous belly shot, of course.
Then we were off to church to celebrate the real reason for the holiday. We would have loved to hear the Easter message, but Gran, SD & I had a nursery full of sweetly dressed kiddos to care for. It was so much fun to hear all about their early morning Easter adventures!
