As much as I wanted to, Ella & I just couldn’t pull together a week’s worth of red outfits, fun activities and silly posts for you guys this week! Instead, you’ll have to look back at last February and enjoy the few posts we’ll share this week leading up to the big day (click on the Valentine’s tag beneath this post to see last year’s V-day posts). Tonight we worked on a little surprise treat for all of our friends at dance and school.
Dum Dums (or other lollipops)
Pink paper/cardstock cut into hearts
Green paper/cardstock cut into leaf shapes
Patterned scrapbook paper cut into notched circles
Tape or stickers to secure
Ahead of time:
I used Illustrator to create templates for all of my shapes and printed them onto the paper
Cut out all shapes
Fold pink hearts in half and crease
Push sucker wrappers as close to the top of the stick as possible
Use a small craft punch to put a hole in each item
Step One – Place a notched circle just under lollipop head (the magazine suggested two, but we later decided that one was much cuter, unless you are using two different patterns/colors)
Step Two – Place two leaves on the sucker stick
Step Three – Place three hearts on the sucker stick
Step Four – Use tape or sticker to secure hearts underneath
Tada!! Aren’t they adorable? We got the idea from Disney’s Family Fun magazine, which is always full of fun crafts for kids. We added a personalized message on the two leaves and put them in a cute pink bucket to carry off for her friends.
