These plans may or may not change a hundred times between now and April, but today, this is what we’re thinking…
Let me start by saying that Josh is thrilled the nursery doesn’t have to be painted. It is the same twig green of Ella’s room with an off-white trim color and dark hardwood floors. Since the two rooms are connected by a door, I wanted them to coordinate as much as possible, but I’m going to be working hard to make this room Sophie’s own.
1. This bedding is what I bought for Ella and I love it just as much today as I did almost four years ago. It is Bubbles in pink/sage from Bacati and is so soft and snuggly. I love the quilted bumpers and the bedskirt is long enough that it reaches the floor even when the mattress is on the highest setting.
2. Although this chair is from Pottery Barn Kids and mine isn’t, the style is very similar. Mine is from the Storytime line by Best Chairs. Nana & Cookie bought it for Ella’s nursery and the big sister has already given us permission to move it into the nursery as long as she can rock Sophie by herself! The fabric is a sage green and cream check and I’m going to buy a small ottoman to sit next to it.
3. This is Ella’s crib and I have to use it for every child because Josh says it was “an investment.” I spent way too much on it, but I couldn’t resist and that was the deal. Lucky for Josh it is beautiful and I can’t imagine using anything else. It is an antique white finish and looks perfect with the trim color.
4. These sheets by Pottery Barn Kids are SO cute! Ella and I picked them up yesterday and I’m thrilled with how they look in person. We also got these because they are called the “Sophie” and you can never have too many sheets.
5. I loved this pillow from PBK, too and I’m debating on whether or not to order it for the chair. Target has this alternative, which is cheaper and might be more what I’m looking for.
6. The dresser that I bought for craft storage will remain in the room, but we’ll be swapping the drawer pulls for these beauties from Anthropologie. Since I don’t have to buy any furniture for the room, we can splurge on hardware and other accessories. I’ll also be having a bevelled mirror cut to place on top of the dresser for a little sparkle! It will be doubling as a changing table in the beginning, but will remain as a dresser because of all of the storage.
I’m still debating artwork and a rug for the room. I’d also like to find two small chandeliers to hang in front of the small windows and something sparkly to hang over the fireplace. There is much to do, but I can’t wait to get started after Christmas.
