I know those last two posts were super quick, light on pictures and had no flavor whatsoever. They were pictures that needed to be shared and I didn’t have anything spectacular to say about them! Thank goodness the pictures of Ella were cute enough to carry the post.
Today I thought I’d begin sharing some details of the birthday bash for this coming weekend. I still have lots to do… baking, pb&j making, cleaning, decorating, dressing up; but I have made a little progress on some fronts.
Saturday afternoon, Gran come over and helped me work for a few hours on birthday stuff. We fashioned a low-slung table for the girls out of a wooden ottoman and wooden circle and got busy decorating it. You’ll see below how pretty the results were.
I’d already been working on centerpieces and favors which I’ll share in more detail later in the week. On Monday morning, my sweet parents came back over and helped us clean off our porches, work in the yard and do a little more decorating. We put the table together, moved some furniture in Ella’s room to make space for the tea party, hung a pretty chandelier and strung up fabric bunting left over from Ella’s first birthday party.
Ella wasn’t home yet {she spent the night with Nana & Cookie}, but when we picked her up we told her all about it. She was so excited to see what all we had done. She walked into room with such a look of awe on her face. She squealed and said, “It is bee-ut-ee-ful! I am going to LOVE it!” She is so excited and cannot believe her party is in five days.
Tonight we picked up the last table cloth from Gran {who made one last alteration} and added it to the table. Ella was so excited that I went ahead and added a centerpiece and plates while she put all of the favor buckets in their place.
Come back later in the week for party favor buckets, sparkly centerpieces and her first official birthday celebration. This week is going to be so much fun!
