After dinner one night this week, Ella told me she was still hungry. She had eaten a big meal, so I was skeptical. When she makes requests like that I usually offer fruit or yogurt and if she isn’t really hungry she’ll turn me down. Sometime later I gave her a bath and afterwards as I was drying her off she said (in a very stern and dramatic voice), “MOM! My tummy is growling and saying it wants some fruit.” I turned her around and she was grinning from ear to ear. When I asked her to repeat herself she said, “My tummy is growling ’cause it’s really hungry and it’s saying ‘give me some fruit in my belly!'”. Yes ma’am.
