Alrighty, the masses have spoken. Well, four of you, but who’s counting?
Prepare yourself for a long post, because this one is chock-full of Disney goodness and a few never-before-seen photos. The one above is probably my favorite from the entire trip, despite the fact that it doesn’t include any of us. I took this while waiting to ride Dumbo for the last time and was remarkably impressed with the fact that it is in focus and not totally blown out. These are Ella’s three favorite things in Magic Kingdom. Cinderella’s Castle. The Carousel. Dumbo.
Above are Ella and SD on the tram from the car to the transportation & ticket center. The few below are of dinner at Casey’s Corner. If you’re looking for a good hotdog in the MK it is the place to be. Good stadium style dogs with a bar of toppings and a nice little bistro table with a view of Cinderella’s humble abode. YUMMY.
Have I mentioned that my child loves the carousel?
What about the fact that she said the funniest and most ridiculous things that week? Let me share.
- “This isn’t Disney, it’s a restaurant.” – while eating dinner at the Garden Grove prior on our first day
- “We don’t love that witch, she isn’t very nice. ” – while watching Ursula the Sea Witch during the Spectromagic parade
- “That witch was very, very, very, very, very dead.” – immediately following the previous comment
- “I’m not the mommy, I’m just a big girl.” – when SD asked her to undress herself
- “YOU SAID TAKE A NAP, NOW TAKE A NAP!” – when I woke her up one afternoon to go to Disney
- “Mommy, you’re the best taco ever.” – this would take far too long to explain
- “I’m just tembering.” – her way of saying ‘pretending’
- “I don’t want to ride the trains where they measure me.” – after riding Goofy’s Barnstormer twice
- “I’m not anybody, I’m just Ella.” – after we took to calling her Boinga, which you’ll understand only if you watch Backyardigans on a regular basis
- “Piglet is my best friend. ‘Cause she’s pink.” – at lunch with Winnie-the-Pooh & Friends
- “I don’t like Crush’s on my pizza. ” – meaning pizza crusts, despite the fact we were talking about Crush the turtle from Finding Nemo
- “You gotta walk mom. Nobody’s going to carry you. ” – when I complained that my legs were hurting after I told her I wouldn’t carry her
- “See all these people Mommy? They’re not taking a nap!” – referring to the cars on the interstate after I told her it was too early for her to be awake
All week our plan had been to spend Friday morning in Magic Kingdom as a finale to our trip and then drive home, no matter how late that put us. In actuality this wasn’t such a great plan. We spent Thursday morning in Epcot, but were back to the hotel by one-thirty. We decided to take a long nap and do our “finale” that night instead. We lost a day on our tickets, but managed to make an earlier start the next day.
We headed into MK around 6 o’clock and ate hotdogs at Casey’s Corner before riding the trifecta of Carousel-Dumbo-Teacups for the fortieth time. Then we caught Wishes the fireworks show before scouting out a spot on Main Street for our second viewing of Spectromagic. It is really difficult to find a decent spot if you haven’t been waiting for two hours, but we managed to squeeze out a beach towel sized spot and stake our claim. Mommy went souvenir shopping and got us an ooey-gooey cinnamon roll at the bakery while Ella & SD saved our spot. I think we waved goodbye to Cinderella’s castle and Main Street sometime after 11 o’clock.Y’all, Disney was wonderful. We had the best time and I cannot imagine us having waited another day to take her. Watching the wonder on her face each day as we experienced something new was amazing. I’ll never forget these moments; I cannot wait to do it again. Except I can, for at least another year. But by then I might have the urge to do it all over again.
